Chela Yoga Studio

Chela Yoga Studio is located in suburban Detroit, MI. with a practice based in teacher training and certification, working with a mature demographic, and individuals suffering from long-term chronic paint. Established in 2012 the studio had gone through a number of logo designs since their founding, all of which were short-lived. They contacted me looking for a more professional brand identity that could be used in a variety of applications from social media to merchandise. The logo needed to be grounded in traditional eastern thought with an aesthetic reminiscent of henna tattoos. It was important to them that their new brand identity paid respect to yoga’s roots and did not appear cartoonish or immature. Working with this information I came up with a contemporary looking concept emboding the studio’s core philosophy and influences.
